Graduate Fellows

Applications period now closed for 2009. Please check back January 2010.

The SPICE grant will provide 8 Type I Fellowships ($30,000 each). These 8 Fellows will continue to work with SPICE the following year as Type II Fellows.

Fellows will be selected by the SPICE Advisory Board and must be currently enrolled as a graduate student at the University of Florida as an engineering or science major.

Middle School Teachers

Applications due Monday, Apr 20, 2009

The SPICE grant will provide a SPICE Fellow, training and a stipend for 8 teachers at our focal schools (Howard Bishop, Lincoln, Hawthorne, Mebane, Oak View and Westwood).

The term of appointment will be for 2 years, with reduced expectations the second year.

Teachers assigned to gifted programs (e.g. Cambridge, Lyceum, The Academy) or special education programs are not eligible.

University Faculty and Staff
We welcome participation by faculty and staff at University of Florida.

Teachers and Employees of the School Board of Alachua County
We welcome input and participation from teachers and administrators in K-12 education, especially those involved with science in middle schools.
