How to Become Involved
Graduate Fellows

Applications for 2008-2009 due Monday, Feb 4, 2008 for graduate students

The SPICE grant will provide 8 Type I Fellowships ($30,000 each). These 8 Fellows will continue to work with SPICE the following year as Type II Fellows.

Fellows will be selected by the SPICE Advisory Board and must be currently enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, College of Engineering, College
Liberal Arts and Sciences, College of Medicine, or College of Veterinary Medicine.

Middle School Teachers

Applications for 2008-2009 due Monday, Apr 21, 2008 for teachers

The SPICE grant will provide a SPICE Fellow, training and a stipend for 8 teachers at our focal schools (Howard Bishop, Lincoln, Hawthorne, Mebane, Oak View and Westwood).

The term of appointment will be for 2 years, with reduced expectations the second year.

Teachers assigned to gifted programs (e.g. Cambridge, Lyceum, The Academy) or special education programs are not eligible.
